Marbled Book Cloth Tutorial

Calling all bookbinders and marblers! Turn your marbled fabric into book cloth!

The ever-talented Ali Manning of Vintage Page Designs has created a marvelous tutorial (both video and written!) on turning cotton fabric into book cloth to use on handmade books with hard covers. This is a FANTASTIC way to use your marbled fabric to create unique, personalized books or journals.

Truth be told, I get asked frequently if marbled fabric can be turned into book cloth and my answer has always been, “I don’t know because I don’t know how to make book cloth!” Well, now I can enthusiastically say, “Yes!”

Head on over to Ali’s website for the video and instructions. And while you’re there, check out the details on her Handmade Book Club. It looks like a winner!

My awesome partner in crime, Jeanie Joe, just dropped off this beauty as we begin another round of clutches, purses, and pouches using my marbled fabrics and her creative sewing skills. This one is called "The Lizzie" and will be available in my shop soon.
