Dispersant is used by marblers in many ways: to get stubborn paint to spread, to create special effects in the tank, and in creating traditional patterns such as Italian Vein.

There are many different types of dispersant a marbler can use. My preferred dispersant is Kodak Photo-Flo which I find easy to control, doesn't smell, and has an indefinite shelf life. A little bit goes a long way.
